Our dynamic and energetic department is great motivator for humanity because its journey starts with zero which never ends and proceeding to infinity. Mathematics is the unshaken foundation of science has been functioning since 2003 for Bachelor Course and from 2004 for honour course in our college. Research department has been introduced since 2012.

- "1.Our Department students have participated in a two days Training Programme on “Latex” for teachers and students at Government Arts college for women,Salem in the academic year 2018-2019.
- Our department student C.Sneka I B.Sc., mathematics has participated in state level drawing competition conducted by Shakespeare institute of English studies,Chennai, in the academic year 2017-2018
- Our student S.Suruthi II M.Sc., Mathematics has attended international workshop on “Pure and Applied Mathematics “at PSA college of Arts and science ,Dharmapuri in the academic year 2018-2019.
- Our department students placed in various organizations in which 8 students in” Accent Education Charitable Trust”,26 students in “SPKS Group of companies” and 21 students in “Tata Consultancy Services” in that academic year 2015-2016.
- Our department students placed in many recruitment in which 7 students Infosys PVT Limited,23 students in IDBI Federal Life Insurance co.Ltd on 2016-2017.
- Our department students 14 members are placed in BPO PVT Limited in the academic year 2017-2018.
- Our department students 25 members placed in ICICI bank ,6 students in ACSEN TEX(Rasi),1 student in Digital private limited,75 students in MI &OPPO, and 40 students in KOTAK MAHENDRA bank in the academic year 2018-2019.
- Our students N.Gowsalya from III-B.SC.,Mathematics, C.Saranya from II-B.SC Mathematics and R.Preethi I-B.SC Mathematics have achieved third position in volley ball in university level in the academic year 2016-2017.
- Our students participated in the dance competition in the occasion of Thanthai Periyar’s Birthday Celebration in the academic year 2017-2018
- Our students S.Kowsalya from B.Sc., Mathematics has participated in 5 km Marathon at “Thanjai Marathon” organized by Thanjavur district athletic association in 2018 and also she got 27th place in 20 km Marathon at T.S.P Matric Hr Sec School.
- Our students has secured 3rd place in Kabadi inter collegiate tournaments at vivekanandha college of arts and science Trichengode in the academic year 2018-2019.
- Our students III-B,sc.,Mathematics P.Brindha,A.Bhavasri,D.Vinothini participated in the dance competition conducted by Periyar university ,Salem in that academic year 2019-2020.
- Our student P.Iswarya III-B.Sc.,Mathematics got 2nd place in state level speech competition at Government Arts and Science college-Salem in that academic year 2018-2019.
- Our students K.Elakkiya &M.Anusuya I B.Sc.,Mathematics are joined in NCC in the academic year 2019-2020.
- Our student M.Vanmathi II B.Sc., Mathematics has selected for IWM workshop at Indian Institute of Science Education Research , Thiruvanandhapuram,Kerala from 16.02.2019 to 21.12.2019 in the academic year 2019-2020.
- Our student R.Gayathry II B.Sc., Mathematics got third place in All India Essay writing competition at Mumbai,she also got cash award of Rs 15,000.
- Since 2015 more than 230 students of our department has been taking a part of NSS &YRC.
- Every year our department students donates their blood .
PROGRAMME ORGANIZED:
- On 17th October 2015 we organized a one day Seminar on “DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS” in which the resource person was Dr.P.Prakash M.SC.,M.Phil..Ph.D.,Associate professor, Department of Mathematics,Periyar university ,salem.
- On 6th February 2016 ,we organized a “Faculty Development Programme” in which the Resource Person was Dr.P.Prakash M.SC.,M.Phil..Ph.D.,Associate professor, Department of Mathematics,Periyar university ,salem.
- On 4th Feb 2017 we organized a one day National Level Seminar on “Mathematical Modelling in Bio Fluids &Decomposition and Factorization of Graphs” in which the Resource Persons were Dr.K.Komala, M.SC.,M.Phil.,Ph.,D.,HOD ,Department of Humanities and Sciences ,Sri Venkateshwara college of Engineering and Technology ,Chittor,Andhra Pradesh and Dr.A.Tamil Elakkiya M.SC.,B.Ed.,Ph.D.,Assistant professor ,Department of Humanities and Sciences ,Sri Venkateshwara college of Engineering and Technology ,Chittor,Andhra Pradesh.
- On 27th February 2019, we organized a one day seminar on “RECENT TRENDS IN APPLIED MATHEMATICS” in which the resource persons wereDr.R.Parvathi M.sc.,M.phil.,B.Ed.,Ph.D. Associate professor cum HOD,Department of mathematics, Vellalar College for Women, Erode and Dr.R.sathya M.sc.,M.phil.,B.Ed.,Ph.D ., PGDCA., Assistant professor and Head Department of mathematics, Sona College of Arts and Science,Salem.
VILLAGE ADOPTION REPORT:
- Our Department adopted the Pacheri Village, where we conducted the DENGU AWARENESS PROGRAMME to the students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidhyalaya School on 25th November 2016.
- On 4 th December 2018, our department adopted the village vellaiyur, where we gave awareness to the students of Panchayat Union Elementary School about “SWINE FLU”.

- On December 22nd 2021,we organized one day state leval seminar on EFFECTIVE ELEMENTS AROUND FACT-FINDING & SELF SEEKING in which the resource persons are Dr.E.SURESH,Assistant Professor,SRM Institute of Science and Technology ,Chennai and Dr.KARUPPAIH KANNAPPAN,Assistant Professor,Govt college of Engineering,Bodinayakanur,Theni.
- On December 22nd 2022,we celebrated a NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY in our department in Dr.A P J Abdul Kalam A/C Hall in which the chiefguest of president S.Elayappan sir.
- On 9th NOV 2022,we are conducted "Quizery - 2K22" Programme organized by NDLI club of BASCW in association with department of mathematics.
