Academic Council

The Academic Council of Bharathiyar Arts and Science College for Women is a prominent board. In order to solve the challenges that students encounter, it serves as a conduit between the Students, Teachers, and Institute Administration. The Council’s major goal is to maintain a healthy academic environment and improve students’ learning experiences. It keeps track of the most recent developments in the field of management and makes recommendations on how to incorporate the additions into the curriculum so that students are academically prepared to meet industries’ expectations.
The Council plays a vital role in assisting students with their elective choices. It hosts course and domain-specific workshops to assist students in making the optimal choices for their electives. The Academic Council also hosts workshops to assist students in coping with their academics and resolving any issues that may arise.
The Council is responsible for managing communication with the international academic community and nurturing relations. The communication is with many institutes and strives to create an environment for reciprocal cultural and lifestyle learning as well as academics. In conclusion, the Academic Council assists students in realising their educational goals and achieving academic achievement.

Activities

Academic Council performs the following activities:

Arranges remedial sessions for students in the subjects of their choice
Design and Development of Certificate Courses and Value-Added Courses
Makes suggestions to adopt experiential learning such as Field visits and Projects in various courses
Arranges interactive sessions between faculty members and the students to help the students in selecting their electives
Performs a thorough study of the electives and subjects being offered by the Affiliating University
Makes recommendations to introduce electives in developing or new areas in line with the changing trends in the industry
Facilitates the Student Exchange Program and acts as a bridge among various colleges.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of Academic council include:

Assist the student community in maintaining academic discipline so that a good learning environment may flourish.
Ensure that students’ wishes are communicated to and acted upon by the Program Office
Facilitate communication between the student community and faculty
Assist in ensuring that the academic programme is consistent with the institute’s mission and industry requirements
Assist in instilling a research culture in the student community.
