Welcome to the Department of Fashion Technology ! We believe in nurturing creativity and innovation, and our Department of Fashion Technology, groomed in 2019, is a testament to that commitment. The Department of Fashion Technology is dedicated to providing a comprehensive education that encompasses both the artistic and technical aspects of the fashion and apparel industry to empower students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in a rapidly evolving global marketplace.

State-of-the-Art Facilities: Our department boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including computer labs equipped with industry-standard software, pattern-making and draping lab, Garment construction lab, a fully-equipped beauty care lab, and textile testing  and dyeing- printing laboratory. These resources allow students to explore their creativity while mastering the technical skills necessary for successful career.

Lab Infrastructure

FASHION TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY
  • Well-equipped Dyeing lab, printing lab with textile testing instruments, garment construction lab with fashion makers and over lock machines, beauty care lab with machines and fashion sketching lab.
  • Well-furnished CAD lab with software packages related to pattern making, grading and colour matching systems
  • Entrepreneurship: Students can set up their own garment units, boutique shops, dyeing and printing units and also get orders for job work.
  • Our students exhibit excellent academic records by bagging university ranks
  • Students have excellent scope in garment industry such as fashion designers, fashion forecasters, pattern makers, quality control inspectors etc.

PURPOSE
To create an awareness about the need for fashion technology and its opportunities at the future.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
To introduce students to growth of fashion industry. To familiarize students with all major international and Indian Fashion designers, their styles of work and fashion related terms. To create awareness amongst students about the domestic and export garments industries and the various career opportunities and diversification possibilities in the field of fashion.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
An activity of the outreach programme by the Fashion Technology department was introduced in Bharathiyar arts and science college for women in the year 2019-2020. Its not only a program of making awareness, also expressing the role of women community towards the society through our college. Having the wide view to develop the society along with the student’s community.
Fashion is a form of self-expression and autonomy at a particular period and place and in a specific context, of clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle, and body posture. The term implies a look defined by the fashion industry as that which is trending.
To prove our responsibility, our I, II, III Year students has been actively participated in this program to influence their upcoming generations towards right path.
We got full support from our management through our principal Dr. Rajakumari. The outreach program has been successfully completed 1 year.

Department Activities
  • The Department of Fashion Technology conducted an Induction Programme for the First Year Students Batch 2023-2024 on 16-07-2023.
  • The Department  Fashion Technology  Organized a Lab tour as a part of the Orientation Programme for other students on 14th Aug 2018.
  • The Department has Organized Indusrial  Visit for all year students to Eurofins Testing Company nad CMV Global Clothings at Tiruppur to bridge the theoretical and practical knowledge.
  • Our students from Third year- 6 students in Off Campus Drive at CMV Global Clothings at Tiruppur for QC& QA, Supervisors etc and appointed on 20.05.2024
  • Skill enhancement classes like Beautician, Aari work and Tailoring were also conducted as Vocational educational training programmes and 350+ students from various departments were benefited and certified through this course.
