About the Department

The department of Nutrition and Dietetics was well established in the year 2017 under Periyar University, Salem. B.Sc Nutrition and Dietetics or Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics is an undergraduate Nutrition and Dietetics course for 3 years. The main aim of the department is to promote health, prevent disease and aid in the management of illness. This course enable the individual to create a diet plan and help individuals as well as members of a family to follow a proper diet to keep themselves fit.

  • Delivering innovative, research based interventions and service programmes which alter meal patterns and food choices with the goal of improved health of individuals, families and communities
  • Contributing the knowledge about nutrition to UG students through high quality teaching, training and research mentorship and
  • Providing service to professionals, governmental and local community organisation.
