Empowering Women Through Education
Bharathiyar Arts & Science College for Women was established in 1997 under the aegis of Sri Sakthi Educational Trust. Located at Deviyakurichi in Salem District, the college was founded to make quality higher education more accessible to women, particularly students from rural and first-generation learning backgrounds.
Affiliated to Periyar University, BASCW has grown into a multidisciplinary institution offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral pathways. The college combines established academic disciplines with emerging fields in technology, business and life sciences.
Academic learning is enriched through communication skills, research exposure, laboratory practice, leadership, cultural activities, sports, community service and career preparation. This holistic approach encourages confidence, independence and social responsibility.

Established Sakthi Educational Trust and Bharathiyar Arts & Science College for Women with 4 courses.
Introduced B.Com (CA), B.Sc Physics, B.Sc Chemistry and Information Technology.
Introduced the BCA programme, expanding opportunities in computer education.
Achieved Permanent Affiliation, UGC 2(f) & 12(B) status, NAAC accreditation and introduced M.Phil courses.
Started NCC and introduced Ph.D. in Commerce, strengthening research and student development.
Celebrated the Silver Jubilee, introduced Ph.D. Tamil and English, and achieved NAAC A+.
Achieved the significant milestone of Autonomous Status, opening a new phase of academic development.
Introduced B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence & Data Science to prepare students for emerging technologies.
