BHARATHI CHELLAMMAL HOSTEL
The Management maintains the Bharathi Chellammal Hostel. It offers a good environment to the residents by promoting communal living, tolerance towards others and unity amidst differences. The hostel paves the way to stand united amidst cultural diversity, offering a platform for holistic life and healthy living. The Bharathi Chellammal Hostel is housed in three buildings with 100 rooms, out of which 20 are marked for Arts students. The rooms are adequately furnished with good ventilation. Each floor has a water purifier for the convenience of residents.
Especially allocated for Arts students
The hostel takes every measure to make the hostel a home.
RO system of mineral water is provided for residents.
Hot water is arranged for bathing during the winter season.
A computer lab is available for hostel students.
Separate telephone connections and telephone card facilities are available on each floor.
Indoor games encourage recreation and friendly interaction.
Steam cooking facilities support food preparation.
Orientation programmes, guidance, counselling, games and yoga classes are offered.
Hostel Day, Freshers' Day and Farewell celebrations strengthen relationships among students.
An exclusive generator provides power backup for the hostel.
A separate washing area and adequate clothes-drying lines are provided.
FOOD • HEALTH • HAPPINESS
The hostel has a well-equipped kitchen. The sophisticated dough kneader and chapatti sheeter are worth mentioning. The well-furnished dining halls can easily accommodate 300 students at one time.
All dining halls are provided with water purifiers, including coolers and two additional systems offering purified ordinary water, cool water and hot water. The menu is exclusively student-oriented.
A system of recording the entry and exit of students and staff members is set up and followed.
Security guards are present at the hostel during the day and night.
Strict adherence to the hostel regulations is compulsory for every resident student.
Strict adherence to the rules specified below is compulsory on the part of every resident student. Disobedience or misconduct will result in removal from the hostel.
The duties and responsibilities assigned to students must be executed in good faith and sincerity.
Any grievance or complaint should immediately be brought to the notice of the Warden or Deputy Warden through Hostel Incharges.
Students are not permitted to wear costly materials, jewellery, etc., and should not keep large amounts of cash. Individuals are responsible for keeping their belongings safe.
Students are not permitted to use tape recorders, transistors, heaters, fans, iron boxes, cell phones, etc.
Inmates are not permitted to entertain day scholars, friends or others inside their rooms. Inmates must not invite guests for food in the hostel mess.
Residents feeling sick should immediately report the matter to the Warden through the Hostel Incharges.
Parents and recognised guardians or local guardians with identity cards alone may meet the concerned student at the visitors' lounge in emergencies, only with prior permission of the Warden.
Every moment has a purpose – learning, recreation and rest.
