Students Grievance Redressal Cell (SGRC)

Upholding Justice, Accountability, and Transparency

The Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) is established as a statutory body of Bharathiyar Arts and Science College for Women (Autonomous) to address Grievances and Complaints raised by Students, Faculty Members or any other Stakeholders of the Institution. This Policy document outlines the Objectives, Composition, Functions and Procedures of the GRC.

Objectives

To offer a forum for resolving Complaints about Interpersonal, Administrative, or Academic issues.
To Guarantee that Complaints are resolved promptly, fairly, and discreetly while upholding the viewpoints of all parties.
To Encourage proactive steps to avoid complaints and create a welcoming Campus community.
To promote discourse and positive participation in order to facilitate Communication, Meditation, and Conflict resolution.
To Preserve due Process, Equity, and Natural justice in Grievance Redressal processes.

Composition of SGRC

Functions

  • One Student from each class serves as the Student Representative. Grievances pertaining to any College-related issues may be filed in the Suggestion box.
  • Any Crime discovered by CCTV surveillance is subject to punishment.
  • Receiving and examining complaints from Faculty Members, Students, and other Stakeholders.
  • Recognizes and evaluates the Complaints.
  • Make decisions in order to find a solution.
  • Making conclusions or suggestions based on natural justice principles and the investigation's results.
  • Encouraging communication between grievance parties and guaranteeing prompt resolution of Grievances.
  • Keeping track of Complaints received, actions taken, and results attained for accountability and future reference.
  • Reporting on the Trends, Patterns, and Results of Grievance Redressal actions on a regular basis.

Procedures

Class Level

The Student Mentoring System is utilized to deal with any personal grievances.

Department Level

Heads of Departments and Senior Faculty Members will resolve any Complaints.

College Level

The Grievance Redressal Committee is responsible to address any issues.

Decisions or Recommendations of GRC shall be communicated to the parties involved in writing, with reasons provided for the outcome reached.

Roles & Responsibilities

Through specified means, such as online forms, suggestion boxes, or in-person meetings, the SGRC is in charge of receiving Grievances from Students.

In order to get pertinent data and proof, the SGRC thoroughly reviews and investigates Complaints.

The SGRC evaluates each Grievance by taking into account the opinions of all parties concerned and determining whether the complaint is legitimate using predetermined standards.

The SGRC offers suggestions for resolving Grievances based on its analysis and consideration. These suggestions may include policy modifications, mediation, disciplinary action, or other corrective actions.

The Accused Party, the Student or Students who submitted the Grievance, and the relevant Administrative Authorities are all informed of the SGRC's Recommendations. To make sure that Complaints are handled efficiently and promptly, the SGRC keeps an eye on how its suggestions are being implemented.

The SGRC keeps track of all Complaints it receives, the steps it takes, and the results it achieves. It also reports to Institutional leadership on a regular basis about its actions and suggestions.
Review and Revision

This Policy document shall be subject to periodic review and revision as necessary to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with regulatory and best practices in Grievance Redressal. Proposed changes shall be considered by the GRC and approved by the Appropriate Authorities.
